I little rain and a whole lotta love. There couldn’t have been a more spectacular place to take your wedding vows in Comox- a sandy bluff overlooking Baynes Sound with spectacular views of the Gulf Islands. A few rain drops made for some colorful umbrella shots and it wasn’t long till the sun was shining. We headed to the Filberg for more pictures. I had a fantastic time photographing the lovely bride and groom and their wedding party were really fun and adventurous. The best jumping action ever!

Dylan and Morven are two of my favourite people and when they asked me to come over to the UK to photograph their wedding I had to jump on that plane. I am so happy that I was able to be part of their day. I can’t tell you how many times I was brought to tears by this wedding. I think it all started when Morven’s mom showed me the photograph she has hanging in her room of a little girl sanding at the seashore while a huge wave breaks right in front of her and swirls at her feet. I took the photo years ago in Korea and Morven had bought it for her mom when I was raising money for volunteering. It meant so much to me to see this photo and hear how much it meant to someone I had just met. The heart strings got pulled around the entire day as friends and family celebrated this amazing thing we call love. I can only hope that my pictures pull at your heart strings as well. ♥

So, on my recent trip to the UK I found my second calling as a burlesque dancer. Seriously- it’s sexy, it’s fun and it’s a damn great way to spend a Friday night!

Pink Kitten Dance School is based out of Bristol (http://www.pinkkittendanceschool.com/) and offers lots of different types of dance classes, from cheerleading to pole dancing. This night had a strict agenda of nipple tassles and tequila shooters. Need I say more?

I had an awesome time photographing Janna and Nathan’s wedding just a few blocks from my home in Lantzville. Turns out I graduated high school with Nathan’s sister, so it was really great to see a familiar face. The wedding went off without a hitch, was fun, sunny and Nathan and Janna are absolutely perfect for each other. Nathan, being a hockey player and a creative type (http://www.reimereason.com), thought it would be fun for the wedding party to have a hockey faceoff. It was a close game, but when the final buzzer sounded, The Bride’s Maids had won the match. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard during a photo shoot!

Only back in the country a week and I had the pleasure of shooting my first Canadian wedding in over 4 years on Canada Day! One of my dearest friends, Matthew Erickson tied the knot with the beautiful and stunning Sarah Innis. It was a gorgeous day, amazing location and one of the most heart-felt celebrations I’ve ever been too. Matt’s daughter, Ainsley, was an absolute angel. And it was only when Sarah was in the boat, coming over to the floating dock, that the rain stopped and the sun came bursting through! Love you three forever and ever! ♥ ♥ ♥

Happy Nepali New Years Everyone! I had the most amazing experience with my sister Sarah Homan, Orr, the amazing architect (Orr’s BLOG!) and the fabulous James the pilot for the World Food Program that delivers rice to isolated communities in Nepal. We went on an adventure up to the North Western corner of Nepal to a place called Simikot. aka. The Fort of Bean! Check out Orr’s blog for more words on this little adventure.
